The company was challenged to increase sales by at least 1,5 Million Euro in the next twelve months, with revenues coming from new customers in Western Europe. With the increased volume they would operate at capacity and achieve improved operating ratios and growth.

Reasons

  1. An important customer (70% of total volume) was phasing out its contract, because it was setting up its own production line;

  2. Makop managers didn’t have the marketing and sales skills to acquire new customers, as they had built the company by responding to pent-up demand;

  3. They didn’t have a qualified person who could focus on this challenge and whose performance reviews would be based upon solving it.

Needs and Solution

The director said that they needed to:

  1. Get appropriate, productive meetings with companies that need to outsource injection to an external partner;

  2. Choose an optimal strategy for running meetings;

  3. Learn how to conduct those meetings successfully.

 

Atol has proposed a comprehensive, result-oriented solution which consists of guided workshops, consulting sessions to introduce a productive sales system, and a set of customized tools to implement the system, supplemented by a set of activities for an effective and successful implementation in practice.

Results

  1. Atol quickly arranged 10 business meetings in Germany for Makop;

  2. Four potential customers communicated a wish to continue discussions;

  3. With those new client relationships, Makop met the challenge of operating at capacity and achieved enhanced operating ratios and growth and, in the future, less reliance on just one big customer.

The company Makop specializes in injection molding and plastics extrusion, and can handle over 300 tools at the same time. They actively help their customers with development, improvements, and innovation.
